Sword Guild Demonstration Calendar

longsword demo

Members of the Guild provide regular public demonstrations of medieval and Renaissance combat techniques to visitors at the Higgins Armory Museum. Demonstrations typically are held on the 1st, 3rd, and (as applicable) the 5th Saturday of each month. Normally, a demonstration of German longsword techniques is presented at 1PM, and a variety of weapons forms are demonstrated at 3PM in the Medieval Master of Arms presentation.

Demonstrations are in the Great Hall of the museum and are free of charge to museum visitors. In addition, the Guild occasionally provides demonstrations at other venues.

Demonstration schedules are subject to change without notice, so please call the museum on the day of the event to confirm: (508) 853 6015.

Photos of the longsword demo, the rapier demo, and the sword and buckler demo are on the demonstration photo page. The page also has links to stills and video clips of demos of a variety of weapons forms.

The Higgins Armory Sword Guild is available for demonstrations of historical martial arts in a variety of medieval and Renaissance weapons forms. Please contact the Guild through the Higgins Armory Museum higgins@higgins.org for more information.
