HIGGINS ARMORY SWORD GUILD

The Guild normally meets to study and practice at the Higgins on the 1^st, 3^rd, and (as applicable) 5^th Saturday afternoon of each month at 3:30. The current schedule is:

SWORD GUILD VIKING WEAPONS PRACTICE

Guild members regularly meet every Tuesday evening at the Higgins from 5:00 to 6:25PM to practice Viking weapons techniques. We practice the speculative reconstruction of Viking-age techniques developed at the Higgins.

We use a variety of vigorous but enjoyable drills, exercises, and games to explore the use of the weapons and to practice fundamental skills. A sampling of the practice drills is shown in the YouTube video to the left, or served from the Guild server in either QuickTime or Windows Video formats.

Participants must be Guild members in good standing. Schedule changes and updates are posted on the Guild mail list. For further information, contact the Guild via e-mail.

HIGGINS ARMORY SWORD GUILD SEMINARS

The seminar group meets on Guild practice days (1^st, 3^rd, and 5^th Saturdays of the month) at 2PM at the Higgins. Seminars are open to all and are free with museum admission. The group is currently reading and walking through the 15^th-century wrestling treatise of Ott the Jew. Seminars are sometimes preempted for special events, so be sure to verify the schedule.
